Avital is a Principal at aMoon Edge. A scientist at heart, she is motivated by discovery and the translation of scientific progress to impact human health. In her current role, Avital is responsible for sourcing and conducting diligence on new investment opportunities for aMoon Edge, our public equity fund, and for helping manage the Fund’s portfolio.
Previously, Avital was an Associate at aMoon and was part of aMoon Growth’s investments in Omada Health, Satellite Bio, AltruBio, BioSplice Therapeutics, and Sera Prognostics.
Prior to joining aMoon, Avital was a post-doctoral fellow at New York University. Avital is a neuroscientist with over 10 years of experience in designing, leading, and executing cutting-edge research using highly diverse experimental tools. As a post-doctoral fellow, she studied cortical memory in learning and sleep. Her studies of synaptic plasticity in response to motor learning were published in high impact scientific journals including Neuron, Nature Neuroscience, and PNAS.
Avital completed her PhD at the Hebrew University’s Interdisciplinary Center for Neural Computation. Her PhD work led to 14 papers published in leading scientific journals. Avital holds a B.Sc. in Psychology and Biology (Cum Laude) from Tel-Aviv University.
